Jade Van Dijk
My passion for pregnancy and birth began from an early age and I couldn’t wait to give birth! After supporting my sister and having an amazing twin birth, I just wanted to work in this space.
I trained to become a pregnancy and birth doula and quickly found that I loved supporting women to find their strength and voice while navigating through our maternity system.
I started thinking about creating BirthTools™ because I felt like the mother's who were working with me needed to learn more than just how to have a natural birth, they needed to know how to make interventions in birth part of their positive birth plan, because the reality of birthing in a hospital means that these recommendations may become our reality.
My favourite thing about being part of the birth team is being proven time and time again that women know best and they just need unwavering support!
When Jade first came to me with her concept of BirthTools... I couldn't get on board quick enough. When I found out I was pregnant I felt like I had a ticking time bomb inside me... and I had no idea about birth. I did a basic birth education that was endorsed by the hospital. What I got from it was that moments after birth everything would be ok and I would forget the pain. As useful as that was it really under prepared me for the day.
I had no idea what to expect apart from Hollywood's version of waters breaking. I could not be more proud to support Jade in bringing her Birth Education to life. I needed this education when I was pregnant and I want to shout about how amazing this course is to every pregnant mumma I meet. It really does have everything you could need to prepare you for becoming a mum!
